Your Role in Our Success
At CareFirst, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our claims are processed accurately and efficiently. Under direct supervision, you will review and adjudicate paper and electronic claims, adhering to our organizational policies and procedures. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will help us maintain the highest standards of service for our members.
Key Responsibilities
- Claims Examination: Examine and resolve non-adjudicated claims, identifying key elements based on contracts, policies, and procedures.
- Processing: Ensure timely payments, calculate deductibles and maximums, and resolve pending claims using automated system processes.
- Accuracy: Apply training materials and medical policies to ensure claims are processed accurately, collaborating with the Quality team for clarity.
- Productivity Reporting: Complete daily productivity data, helping leadership compile performance statistics for scheduling and quality improvement.
- Collaboration: Work with multiple departments to provide feedback, resolve issues, and answer basic processing questions.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Less than one year of experience processing claim documents. Preferably, experience with claims processing, billing, or medical terminology.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills and reading comprehension.
- Basic written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to navigate computer applications efficiently.
- Capability to meet deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands.
- Effective communication and positive customer service skills, even with demanding customers.
Compensation and Benefits
Earn a competitive salary ranging from $31,536 to $57,816, adjusted for location and experience. CareFirst offers a comprehensive benefits package, various incentive programs, and 401k contribution plans. Note that benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
